Financial Update Announcement
5/28/25
Several times throughout the year Crossroads gives financial updates. If you were in one of our services on May 18, you saw the latest one. If you missed it, we are sharing it here for your convenience. We are also including a list of frequently asked questions below.
1. There are lots of renovations happening. Why are we doing renovations in this lean season?
The current budget was set during the fall of 2024. Budgets are planned based on the last 12 months of giving, however giving is not necessarily steady throughout the year. Some people give weekly, some monthly, others annually. Due to this, giving amounts fluctuate throughout the year. The current renovation of the children’s wing is in the budget and is actually coming in under budget. Planning for this began months ago so that it would start immediately following the end of the Wednesday night children’s ministry and would be finished for the kick off in September.
2. I see money in the Great Commission and the Endowment funds. Can we use those?
These are legacy funds specifically designed to provide income to the church for years and years to come. These types of funds come with strict usability guidelines and can be used for only very specific purposes. Donors trust us to use these funds in those limited ways for which the funds were given. To use these long term legacy funds for short term shortfalls does not honor the integrity of those funds.
3. Do we have a line of credit?
Yes we do. Praise the Lord, we have not used it in the last 8 years. Our plan is to avoid using that line of credit, but it is a very common business practice to use lines of credit for short term shortfalls and we will do so if needed. If this happens, our intent will be to pay it off as soon as possible.
4. Does Crossroads have any debt?
We do not have any debt.
5. Have we exhausted our emergency savings?
Yes and no. Crossroads has two different savings accounts but at this time both have a zero balance as we have moved those funds into the checking account in order to have access to cash for the day to day costs of the church.
