Colossians 4:2-6
Read Colossians 4:2-6
Helpful Background Information:
This letter is written by the Apostle Paul. He likely wrote this when he was in prison in Rome around the same time as writing his letter to the church in Ephesus. This is why we often call Paul’s letters to the Colossians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Philemon the “prison letters.”
Reflection Questions:
Paul writes to a church that is facing accusations of inappropriate behavior. He encourages them to act in ways that prevent such claims. Reflect on your interactions with non-believers (family, friends, and coworkers). Are you heeding Paul’s advice in verses 5 and 6? If not, why do you think that is?
What are some practical ways you can start being more intentional about your interactions with non-believers?
Verse 2 says, to be “steadfast in prayer, being watchful in it.” How does prayer relate to our conduct towards non-believers?
Take some time to write the names of some non-believers down who you are going to take steps to be more intentional with about witnessing and ministering to them. Take 10 minutes or so to pray over this list and ask the Lord for compassion and wisdom on how to do this well.
