Romans 10:5-15

Read Romans 10:5-15

Helpful Background Information:

  • In this passage, Paul explains how people get saved. He says that salvation doesn’t come from following the law, but from believing in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead and confessing Him as Lord. Then Paul asks, How can people call on Jesus if they have never heard about Him? The follow-up question is then, “How can they hear without someone preaching?” This passage reminds us that the gospel must be shared. Church planting, missions, and everyday evangelism matter because faith comes through hearing, and hearing comes through the Word of Christ.

Reflection Questions:

  • Romans 10:9 states that if you confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Have you personally done that? If so, when and how did that happen? Who were the “beautiful feet” in your life, those who brought the good news to you?

  • Paul asks, “How will they believe in Him of whom they have never heard?” What does this question stir in your heart?

  • What excuses or fears sometimes keep you from sharing the gospel with others?

  • What is one step you can take this week to help someone else hear the message of Jesus?
